Working as a contractor for Facebook

There is a lot of interesting things about working on-site at Facebook. Many things that cannot be said but some things that can.

One of the upsides about working for a global tech company was all the free food. Though our floor was as annex of one of the main buildings, we still got free breakfast and lunch.

The menu was something new and different every day. It was wonderful to get to try new foods that I would have never gone and got myself.

There were a number different types of free snacks and lots of free teas and coffee, which were huge money savers.

My position involved staring at a computer all day long. But, short breaks and a long lunch provided much need rest for my sensitive eyes. Additionally, having a sit-stand desk was an unexpected perk that helped make my work a bit easier.

The downside to working for a media/communications company was the lack of communication. There were many moments when one arm didn’t know what the other arm was doing.

Even with withholding many details, I must say that I did enjoy the experience of working at such a massive company. I learned a lot in how to deal with the unexpected and still come out thinking positive.

Working on-site at Facebook was an experience I won’t forget.
