I am appalled at Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters
Upon watching the trailer for upcoming third season, it has come to my attention the wonderful and painstakingly detailed world of Transformers: Prime is drawing to an end.
After watching the trailer of what is to come in the next story arch in the Prime universe, I question the overall intention and direction of what this world is coming to.
At the time of the cliff-hanger ending in season two, I was devastated that such a jolting event occurred. But, I understood that there needed to be some motivation for Megatron to aggressively pursue his quest for power: the complete destruction of Cybertron and the passing of Optimus Prime.
Now, the death of Optimus Prime marks a significant shift in the overall power struggle between the Autobots and Decepticons. This idea has had many incarnations: G1, Beast Wars, comic series’, Bayformers…you name it, Optimus Prime more than likely had kicked the bucket and came back to life. Additionally, the overwhelming love for the strong but silent type character that is Optimus Prime guarantees that at some point, he will be back. The passing of Optimus Prime does not concern me. What does concern me is the where this show is going.
By far, I incorrectly assumed the direction, which has become very apparent, that the show is taking after the passing of Optimus Prime. Perhaps it was wishful thinking to believe that Hot Rod and Ultra Magnus might make an appearance and/or play a significant contribution to saving the world. Or, the matrix of leadership would have some role in unifying the Autobots in some way to topple New Kaon, NV.
While I know my predictions are only such, but out of all the possible ways to expand the depth of the Prime universe, this is far from what I would have ever imagined. In all honesty, I was very excited that season three would be starting up in the spring. Right now, right now I am just hoping that this move doesn’t destroy the world.
